Below is the list of Flexible Service Schedule (FSS) codes to give a description of what each one is.

Service 1 – Display in instrument cluster

  • Check brake pads for thickness front/rear.
  • Check condition of brake discs front/rear.

Service 2 – Every 60,000 Miles or 4 Years

Engine compartment:

  • Replace air-cleaner insert.

Service 3 – Every 30,000 Miles or 2 Years

Engine Compartment

  • Replace combination filter.
  • Replace compressor poly-V-belt (E55 AMG only).

Service 4 – Every 30,000 Miles or 2 Years

Engine Compartment

  • Replace dust filter.

Service 5 - Every 60.000 Miles or 5 Years

Engine Compartment

  • Replace fuel filter.

Service 6 – Every 60,000 Miles or 5 Years

Engine Compartment

  • Replace activated charcoal filter.

Service 7 – Every 100,000 Miles or 5 Years

Engine Compartment

  • Replace spark plugs.

Service 8 – 150,000 Miles or 15 Years

Engine Compartment

  • Replace coolant.

(WSC recommendation is to stick to the previous 4 year change intervals on coolant changes)

Service 9 – Every 2 years

Underside of Vehicle

  • Chassis and load-bearing body components: Check for damage and corrosion.

Engine Compartment

  • Replace brake fluid.

Service 10 – Every 5 Years

Passenger Compartment

  • Sliding/pop-up roof: Clean slide rails and slide shoes.

Service 11 – Due at every service

Passenger Compartment

  • Panorama sliding roof: Clean and lubricate guide mechanism.

Service 12

Engine Compartment

  • Engine oil and filter change

Service 13

Engine Compartment

Check the following fluid levels, correct if necessary. If there is a loss of fluid,
determine cause and perform repair with separate work order.

  • Brake system.
  • Power steering.
  • Windshield washer system.
  • Check catch and safety catch and hinges on engine hood for proper operation.
  • Check auxiliary battery condition.

Interior

Function check

  • Warning/indicator lamps, illumination and interior lighting.
  • Windshield wipers, washer system, headlamp cleaning system.
  • Reset service indicator in instrument cluster.

Wheels and Brakes

  • Inspect tires for damage and splits, measure thread depth.
  • Check thickness of brake pads (remove 1 front wheel at service 13)
  • Correct tire inflation pressure (incl. spare tire)

Trunk

  • Check main battery condition

Service 14

Engine Compartment

Leakage – Major components

Check the following fluid levels, correct if necessary.
If there is a loss of fluid, determine cause and perform repair with separate work order

  • Brake system.
  • Power steering.
  • Windshield washer system.
  • Check catch and safety catch and hinges on engine hood for proper operation.
  • Check auxiliary battery condition.
  • Check for chafe marks, line routing, damaged components. In the event of
    leakage, determine cause and perform repairs on separate work order.

Interior

Function check

  • Check parking brake (function test only)
  • Warning/indicator lamps, illumination and interior lighting.
  • Windshield wipers, washer system, headlamp cleaning system.
  • Check safety belts and buckles for signs of external damage and function
  • Reset service indicator in instrument cluster.

Wheels and Brakes

  • Inspect tires for damage and splits, measure thread depth.
  • Check thickness of brake pads (remove 1 front wheel at service 13)
  • Correct tire inflation pressure (incl. spare tire)

Underside of Vehicle

  • Check for chafe marks, line routing, damaged components. In the event of
    leakage, determine cause and perform repairs on separate work order.
  • Check front axle joints for play, check rubber boots.
  • Inspect condition of flexible discs.
  • Inspect play of tie rod and drag link joints, inspect rubber boots.

Trunk

  • Check main battery condition
